Volunteer lifesavers are opening the doors to their boathouse for an evening of music and entertainment this weekend. Hoylake RNLI will host a special performance by Caldy Rugby Club's Off Pitch Choir on Saturday, June 27. Doors will open at 7pm ahead of the concert taking place in the unique surroundings of the lifeboat station on North Parade.
Free Admission and Donations
Admission to the event is free, although donations will be gratefully received to support the Hoylake and West Kirby RNLI volunteer crews during the busy summer season. Refreshments will be available and visitors will also have the opportunity to visit the RNLI shop, which will be selling a range of gifts, souvenirs and merchandise.
Fundraising Chair’s Excitement
Carron Jones, fundraising chair for the Hoylake and West Kirby RNLI branch, said: "We are so thrilled to be welcoming the Off Pitch Choir to the station for what promises to be a really special evening of entertainment. This unique event will be a wonderful opportunity for the community to visit the station, enjoy some great music and help support the vital work of our volunteer lifeboat crews."
Choir Director’s Remarks
Jan Lyon, choir director of the Off Pitch Choir, commented: "Off Pitch really enjoy our connection with Hoylake RNLI and we have done many Christmas concerts together - which are now standing room only - raising funds whilst having a fun evening. We encourage audience participation and also get the crew up to do an impromptu performance! This is our first summer concert with Hoylake RNLI. We are so happy to be invited and really looking forward to performing in the boathouse - it looks spectacular and I think it will have a nice acoustic. It will be a relaxed evening, hopefully with good weather and lots of (compulsory) audience participation!"
