A Lichfield author and mental health professional is set to deliver an intimate evening of storytelling, reflection, and live performance at a new independent bookstore. The event, titled "An Evening with Sheila McMahon," will take place at Fiction and Fairy Lights in Hednesford on Wednesday, June 10, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. During the evening, Sheila will share personal readings from her two published books, The Power of Knowing You and Behind Closed Doors. For the first time, she will read aloud an extract from The Power of Knowing You, which was written from a child's perspective, offering the audience a deeply personal insight into her lived experience.
Highlights of the Evening
The event will feature poetry, humor, music, and open conversations about mental health and wellbeing. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in mental health practice, Sheila will explore common challenges such as imposter syndrome, self-worth, and people-pleasing behaviors. She will discuss how these patterns can be understood and overcome, providing valuable insights for attendees.
Book Sales and Tickets
Signed copies of both books will be available for purchase on the night. Tickets are priced at £3 and can be purchased online. The venue, Fiction and Fairy Lights, is a new independent bookstore in Hednesford, Staffordshire, providing a cozy setting for this unique event.
