A modest side-street bed and breakfast in Llandudno has just been crowned one of the finest in the entire world. Burleigh House, nestled on Church Walks at the top end of Llandudno, boasts just eight guest rooms and has been lovingly managed by Steve and Julie Wood for nearly two decades.
The couple poured everything into the venture after leaving behind their careers in Greater Manchester to embrace life by the seaside. Their dedication has earned them outstanding Tripadvisor reviews, with one recent guest describing the establishment as a "masterclass in hosting". Now they have been recognised amongst the review platform's Best of the Best, with winners selected based on the quality and quantity of Tripadvisor reviews and ratings from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, reports North Wales Live.
The guest house has been ranked the third best B&B in the UK and sits at number 11 across the globe. Steve and Julie said: "To be placed 3rd in Tripadvisors Best of the Best in the UK 2026 is a great achievement as we are coming up to 20 years in November, owning and running Burleigh House. We both gave up our well paid jobs in Stockport and took the big step into the unknown. Fortunately with a lot of hard work, stress and Covid to deal with its all worked out for the good. We would like to thank family, friends and most of all, our lovely loyal guests who came along with the journey."
The awards showcase the highest-rated hotels worldwide, based on Tripadvisor reviewer feedback. This year's awards span seven categories: Top Hotels, All-Inclusive, B&Bs and Inns, Family-Friendly, Small and Boutique, Luxury and One of a Kind. This year's leading UK winner is Royal Lancaster London, which has been crowned No. 1 Top Hotel in the UK and No. 4 globally.
