The Two Pigs by Liam Dillon, a 'no fuss' Midlands restaurant known for its top Sunday lunch and pub favourites, has been added to the prestigious 2026 Michelin Guide. Located in the village of Barton-under-Needwood on Birmingham's doorstep, the establishment first opened in 2024 and has quickly gained acclaim for its exceptional seasonal produce and relaxed atmosphere.
Accolades and Recognition
Within its first year, The Two Pigs was named among the UK's Top 50 Gastropubs and awarded 2 AA Rosettes. It builds on the success of Liam Dillon's sister venue, The Boat in Lichfield. The menu, crafted by Head Chef Beth Hip, features breakfast, brunch, sharing plates, classic Sunday lunches, and pub favourites, all served with carefully selected drinks.
Michelin Guide Praise
Michelin praised the restaurant, stating: "This delightful spot offers all you could want in a country pub. The lovely village setting is mirrored in the cosy, welcoming interior with a snug bar, slightly more formal dining room and a terrace for the summer. The menu sticks to the classics and delivers them with bags of joyous flavour, from a Welsh rarebit snack to smoked haddock fishcake, pork schnitzel and a knockout trifle for dessert. Steaks from the grill or roasted fish to share are ideal for a special occasion."
Owner's Reaction
Liam Dillon, chef-owner of The Two Pigs, said: "We're absolutely delighted to be included in the 2026 Michelin Guide. From the very beginning, our ambition was to create a neighbourhood pub where everyone feels welcome and where great ingredients, proper hospitality and consistently delicious food are at the heart of everything we do. To receive recognition from Michelin so soon after opening is an incredible achievement for the whole team, whose hard work and passion have made this possible. We couldn't be more grateful to our guests for their continued support, and we're excited for what's to come."
