Work has begun stocking the shelves in a former Sidemen shop at the Bullring in Birmingham, sparking excitement among shoppers. The unit, located on the lower ground floor near Marks and Spencer, was previously occupied by the YouTube stars until their store closed in January after 15 months.
On Tuesday, June 9, staff were seen placing brightly colored sports shirts on racks and laying a strip of artificial grass, indicating a sporty transformation. BirminghamLive understands the shop will become a special cricket pop-up store to celebrate the ICC Women's T20 Cricket World Cup.
Celebratory Events Planned
England will face Sri Lanka at Edgbaston on Friday, June 12, and the ICC has scheduled free activations at the Bullring and Victoria Square from June 12 to June 14, 10am to 5pm. Activities include the Run Chase Challenge, cricket-inspired games, banner designing, and learning about team captains. There will also be opportunities to find out how to get involved with local cricket.
New Balance Store Coming
New Balance has confirmed it will open a new shop on the top floor of the Selfridges side later this year, though no official date has been announced. The brand is known for its trainers and athletic wear.
Readers are invited to share their thoughts on what shops they would like to see fill the empty units at the Bullring, including former spaces of Claire's Accessories and Russell and Bromley.
