The Windsor pub on Cannon Street in Birmingham city centre will reopen this week under a new name. The venue will launch as an O'Neill's Irish pub on Friday, July 18, at 6pm, breathing new life into the closed boozer.
Location and Details
Cannon Street is a short road connecting New Street, between Charles Tyrwhitt and Size, to Cherry Street near Pigeon Park. The new O'Neill's spans two floors and features multiple large-screen TVs for sports, a stage upstairs for live music, and Arrowsmiths interactive dart boards. Live musicians will perform on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Food and Drink Offerings
The menu includes O'Neill's classics such as the Guinness burger, loaded waffle fries, and rice bowls. The pub is expected to host live music on both levels.
Nearby Redevelopment Plans
Birmingham City Council plans to widen Cherry Street at the top of Cannon to create a new public realm. The House of Fraser building, formerly Rackhams, along with North Western Arcade and other structures, are slated for demolition to make way for a new development of homes and commercial spaces.
