Paddy McGuinness' Sunday Roast Dinner Divides Fans Over Gravy Amount

Television presenter Paddy McGuinness has sparked a lively debate among his followers after posting a picture of his homemade Sunday roast dinner on social media. The 52-year-old celebrity, who enjoyed a wholesome weekend with his three children celebrating Valentine's Day, shared his version of the traditional British meal, but fans were quick to comment on what they perceived as shortcomings in his culinary presentation.

Controversial Meal Components Draw Attention

The quintessential British Sunday roast typically features roasted meat such as beef, chicken, lamb, or pork accompanied by crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, and seasonal vegetables like carrots, parsnips, and greens. The meal is traditionally served with savory gravy and specific condiments including horseradish or mint sauce. McGuinness' plate contained roast chicken breast alongside a generous portion of roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, Brussels sprouts, and pigs in blankets.

While some fans questioned his vegetable selection, the overwhelming majority of comments focused on what they considered an insufficient amount of gravy. One follower remarked directly to McGuinness, "Needs way more gravy! You're supposed to be Northern lad." Another echoed this sentiment stating, "Lovely Paddy but get some gravy on your dinner," while a third chimed in with, "Not enough gravy there @paddymcguinness now come on u know up north food has got to be swimming in the stuff."

Additional Criticisms and Praise

Beyond the gravy controversy, other fans noted the absence of parsnips from his plate, while one observer commented that the pigs in blankets appeared undercooked and needed to be crispier. Despite these criticisms, McGuinness did receive praise from some followers who described his meal as looking like a 'banging roast' and complimented his cooking efforts.

McGuinness' Recent Body Transformation

The Sunday roast discussion comes shortly after the former Top Gear presenter stunned fans with his dramatic physical transformation. After what he described as two months of 'binge eating' that included beer, cakes, and biscuits, McGuinness shared a before photo showing his belly hanging over his shorts. Just 75 days later, he revealed a chiseled physique with visible abdominal muscles.

This remarkable change resulted from McGuinness completing the "Hard 75" challenge, a strict 75-day mental toughness program created by Andy Frisella. The regimen requires participants to follow five daily, non-negotiable tasks: adhering to a specific diet with no alcohol or cheat meals, completing two 45-minute workouts with one conducted outdoors, drinking a gallon of water, reading ten pages of nonfiction material, and taking a daily progress photograph. Any deviation from these requirements forces participants to restart the challenge from day one.

Sharing his before and after photographs, McGuinness wrote, "I still can't believe how much I'd let myself go. That before pic is the result of just under two months of binge eating. The effect it had on my body, and more importantly my mind, was staggering." He added that he planned to post a full 75-day picture time-lapse and expressed amazement at what can be achieved with sufficient willpower, noting that he thoroughly enjoyed the Hard 75 challenge and is now seeking his next physical test.
