Solihull School Wins National Teaching Award

A school in Solihull has been officially recognised as one of the best in the UK after securing a major win at the prestigious Pearson National Teaching Awards. Lyndon School has received the coveted Bronze Award for Making a Difference Secondary School of the Year, along with several additional honours for its staff. This national accolade highlights the school’s significant impact on its students and the wider community.

Celebrating Staff Excellence

The celebrations continue as two teachers from Lyndon School were each awarded a Bronze Award for Teacher of the Year. Laura Rose, an English teacher, and Kirstie Lupton, a modern foreign languages teacher, have been recognised for their outstanding dedication. Furthermore, four other staff members—Huong Thai, Samantha Leigh, Ayman Rehemtulla, and Ellen Jones—received Highly Commended recognition in the same category.

Recognition at a Fitting Time

The recognition arrives just ahead of Thank a Teacher Day, giving Lyndon School even more reason to celebrate its staff. Syreeta Kapswara, head of school at Lyndon School, expressed her pride: “This is a wonderful recognition of everything our community has worked so hard to build. To win the Making a Difference award is a real testament to the dedication of every member of staff, every young person, and every family who has played a part in making Lyndon the school it is. It’s fitting that so many of our teachers have been recognised too. We are incredibly proud of them.”
