Ramsgate Arts Primary School Choir Delivers Stunning Performance at O2 Arena

Young singers from Ramsgate Arts Primary School showcased their exceptional talent at the prestigious O2 Arena in London, participating in the national Young Voices 2026 community singing festival. This remarkable event brought together thousands of children from across the United Kingdom, uniting them in a powerful celebration of music and camaraderie.

Months of Preparation Lead to Unforgettable Night

The dedicated RAPS team had rehearsed an extensive range of set songs for many weeks, ensuring they were perfectly prepared for their moment in the spotlight. On their big night, the pupils demonstrated incredible energy and confidence, performing as part of the largest youth choir in the world with more than 8,200 performers sharing the stage.

The atmosphere inside the arena was absolutely electric, with the children proudly representing their school on a world-class platform. Singers from Years 3 through 6, guided by the school's Wellbeing Lead Victoria Elliott and Admissions and Attendance Officer Gemma Moore, had practiced the selected songs for nearly two terms as part of their after-school Young Voices Choir program.

School Leadership Celebrates Student Achievement

Assistant Head of School Louise Chidwick-Day expressed immense pride in the students' accomplishments: "It was a very long day, but the children's energy, enthusiasm and huge smiles said it all—they loved every single second. We are so proud of each and every one of them for their hard work, resilience and brilliant behavior; they are a true credit to the school. What a memory to treasure forever."

She added: "Opportunities like this open children's eyes to what is possible in life. Who knows—one day it might be a pupil from RAPS performing professionally on stage at the O2 Arena."

Special Moments and Supportive Audience

Among the enthusiastic RAPS friends and family members attending the show was guide dog Charlie, who accompanied the mother of pupil Kira. The well-behaved canine companion remained perfectly calm throughout the entire performance, adding to the special nature of the evening.

Head of School Nick Budge described the experience as truly inspirational for all participating pupils: "We joined with thousands of children from across the country as one enormous choir to perform medleys spanning a diverse range of musical genres. This is a brilliant occasion that encourages schools to unite through song, creating hundreds of special memories at every concert."

He continued: "It was a genuinely enriching experience for our pupils to perform at such a famous arena and be part of something so vibrant and lively, complete with a fabulous atmosphere, dazzling light show and fantastic guest star performances. To be united in song is an incredibly powerful experience; with more than 8,000 other young singers performing together, the effect is absolutely phenomenal."
