Sheffield-based legal firm BRM has partnered with Macmillan Cancer Support to offer professional Will writing services throughout August and September, with voluntary donations directly funding local cancer care.
How the Initiative Works
Instead of paying standard legal fees, residents are asked to make a voluntary donation to Macmillan. Every penny raised will stay in Sheffield and South Yorkshire to support nursing care, emotional support, and practical help for cancer patients and their families.
Community Commitment
Richard Barlow, leading the BRM Sheffield office, said: "As a Sheffield-based legal firm, Macmillan Cancer Support is a charity close to our hearts. They help so many people affected by cancer and their families across the Sheffield and South Yorkshire region."
BRM has a history of charitable work; colleagues in Chesterfield have raised over £220,000 for Macmillan since 2015. Barlow added: "Our colleagues in Chesterfield have been supporting Macmillan Cancer Support since 2015, raising over £220,000 so far, and we’re proud to launch our new Will Month to add even more fundraising for the charity in Sheffield."
Importance of Will Writing
Barlow emphasised the importance of having a professionally drafted Will: "Having a professionally drafted Will in place is vital, as it ensures your finances and property are in order, your wishes are followed and that your loved ones are provided for – our Will Months in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support gives our clients a fantastic opportunity to plan for the future whilst raising funds for an important cause."
