The 44-year-old shared a heartfelt video on Thursday, detailing his mother's recent colon cancer diagnosis and the subsequent spread of the disease to her liver.

Calum Best posted the candid video message on January 9, 2026, explaining he had struggled to find the right words. "I wanted to get the words right, but when it comes to health, and when it comes to my mum, the only thing that really matters is honesty," he stated. He confirmed his 73-year-old mother, known for her lifelong dedication to health and fitness, is now facing this serious illness.
"For as long as I can remember, she has lived her life rooted in health, fitness and wellbeing," Calum said. "But as we all know, cancer doesn't discriminate. It doesn't care where you're from, how you live, or how healthy you try to be. And now, it's here – and it's with my mum."
Launching a Fundraiser for Specialist Treatment
The reality TV star has taken the difficult step of creating a GoFundMe page to raise money for his mother's medical care. He admitted the financial burden of specialist treatment is more than he can manage alone. The fundraiser, launched on January 7, has a target of £35,000. Remarkably, within just two days, 45% of the goal had already been met by supportive donors.
"To move forward, we need access to specialist care and professionals who can offer the right treatment," Calum explained in his appeal. "Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us access the specialists, treatment and care my mum needs during this time." He promised to share updates on the page, with Angie also intending to post videos when she feels able.

Angie is the former wife of the late football legend George Best. The couple met in Los Angeles in 1975, married in 1976, and welcomed their son Calum in 1981. They divorced in 1986, and George Best later died from complications related to cancer in 2005.
