Maggie’s Nottingham is thrilled to announce that its centre head, Annie Walton, will embark on the Toubkal Trek in Morocco, a challenging expedition to conquer Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak at 4,167 metres. This inspiring journey aims to raise crucial funds and awareness for Maggie’s, a charity offering free cancer support and information across the UK.
A Test of Endurance for a Vital Cause
The trek will push participants to their limits, testing endurance, resilience, and determination—qualities that echo the strength demonstrated by individuals living with cancer every day. Over six days, the team will navigate the rugged terrain of the Atlas Mountains, experiencing dramatic landscapes and working together to reach the summit.
Annie Walton’s Commitment
Speaking ahead of the challenge, Annie said: “I’m incredibly proud to represent Maggie’s Nottingham in this adventure. Every step we take on Mount Toubkal is for the people who rely on Maggie’s support. It’s a tough challenge, but nothing compared to what many of our visitors face.”
How Funds Will Be Used
All funds raised will directly support Maggie’s Nottingham, which provides practical, emotional, and social support to people with cancer, along with their families and friends. The centre offers a welcoming space where visitors can access expert advice and compassionate care.
Call for Local Business Support
Maggie’s Nottingham is also reaching out to local businesses for sponsorship or support. Nottingham-based companies interested in backing the trek can gain positive visibility and demonstrate corporate social responsibility while helping those affected by cancer.
