DWP Lists 45 Eye Conditions for £114 Weekly PIP Payment

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has published a comprehensive list of 45 eye conditions that qualify for Personal Independence Payment (PIP), a benefit worth up to £114 per week for eligible claimants. As of April 6, 2026, PIP rates have increased by 3.8%.

PIP Payment Structure

PIP is paid every four weeks and consists of two components: daily living and mobility. Each component has a standard and enhanced rate. The enhanced daily living rate is £114 per week, while the standard rate is £76. Mobility components have separate rates, with the standard rate at £30 and the enhanced rate at £80 per week.

Eligibility and Claimant Numbers

DWP data shows that as of the end of January, approximately 60,360 people with eye issues were receiving PIP payments. The list of 45 eye problems is not exhaustive, and individuals struggling with eyesight are encouraged to file a claim if their vision makes daily tasks difficult.
