Sixty thousand copies of the 21st anniversary edition of All Together NOW! have been printed and are being distributed across supermarkets, hospitals, health centres, and other public places. The free newspaper is packed with news and information for those affected by disability and ill health, and copies are going fast.
Lady Anne Dodd Sends Goodwill Message
Lady Anne Dodd, widow of comedy legend Sir Ken Dodd, is among the readers who have sent goodwill messages to the charity paper. In a special tribute, she recalled her late husband's support for the publication. Twenty years ago, Sir Ken told ATN readers: "I think it is absolutely plumptious that All Together Now! is one year old. The newspaper has one major objective – to help people."
In a flashback to 2005, Sir Ken's message in the first anniversary edition read: "I have great respect for the entire team who produce this magnificent magazine. People who overcome disabilities are a strength to everyone else. HAPPINESS... that's what All Together Now! brings to so many people. Happy First Birthday! May you go from strength to strength."
Lady Anne's Reflection on Ken's Legacy
Lady Anne (pictured below) writes: "When I saw the message Ken sent all those years ago in the first anniversary edition in 2005, I smiled. Ken always spoke from the heart. We both supported All Together NOW! because it was a newspaper that cared. It cared for the people out there who may have thought they were on their own. It cared about giving out up-to-date news and information in these ever-changing, challenging times. It still cares."
She added: "There are always upbeat stories, features and news items that reinforce its motto: For anyone who won't let anything get in the way. It is a voice of optimism. ALL . . . TOGETHER . . . NOW. Those three words say it all. Ken was a communicator and he knew what a lifeline it was for so many people helping those with disabilities, ill health and old age. I will continue to support it for all the wonderful work it does."
