Emergency services were called to a devastating house fire on Green Park Road in Dudley on Monday evening, February 2, where tragically one man lost his life and another was taken to hospital for treatment.

Emergency Response to the Fatal Incident

West Midlands Ambulance Service received the call just after 5pm and arrived to find a man inside the property who, despite their efforts, could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene. A spokesperson for the service confirmed the sombre outcome, stating that it quickly became apparent the individual could not be rescued.

Multiple Casualties and Hospital Treatment

Upon arrival, paramedics discovered three other individuals outside the burning property. One man was treated for suspected smoke inhalation and subsequently conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley for further medical care. A woman also received treatment for suspected smoke inhalation but declined hospital admission, instead being given self-care advice and discharged at the scene. A second woman was assessed by medical staff but did not require any treatment and was also discharged.

West Midlands Police attended the scene alongside other emergency services, posting about the incident on social media at 7.20pm on Monday. They confirmed that Green Park Road was closed with a cordon likely to remain in place throughout the evening as investigations continued.
