The 2026 GP Patient Survey has been released, rating hundreds of GP surgeries across the West Midlands based on patient feedback. Patients were asked to provide an overall rating of good or poor after being quizzed on several key areas, including quality of care and ease of access.
Best and Worst Performing Surgeries
Some surgeries received overwhelming support, with the best achieving almost perfect scores. Queslett Medical Centre in Great Barr and Dr Kulshrestha Family Practice in Winson Green both scored an impressive 97% approval rate, meaning nearly all patients rated them as good or very good.
However, other practices fared less well. Naseby Medical Centre in Saltley and Clifton Medical Centre in West Bromwich were among the worst-rated in England, with only around four in 10 patients saying they were doing a good job.
Survey Methodology and Key Questions
The annual GP Patient Survey examines performance and public attitude towards GP services. Questions focus on the performance of GPs specifically, as well as the overall experience of attending and contacting the practice. This includes the quality of care and how easy it is to get through on the phone or online and book an appointment.
According to the survey organizers, in some cases only small numbers of patients may take the surveys, which can impact overall grades. Patients can search for their own surgery using an interactive tool to see how it was rated.
