The recall follows the detection of veterinary medicines, including antibiotics (penicillin), in the product, which could trigger allergic reactions in consumers with antibiotic allergies.

The company has issued point-of-sale notices in all retail stores and on their website. Customers who have purchased the affected milk are advised not to consume it and to return it to the store for a full refund. The recall applies exclusively to Graham's Family Dairy Semi-Skimmed Milk with the specified use-by date; no other products or dates are affected.
Company Statement
In a statement, Graham's Family Dairy said: "This is a precautionary measure we have taken as there is a small risk a trace level of antibiotics may be present in the milk which could cause a reaction to consumers with an allergy to antibiotics. If you have purchased any of these products, please do not consume. Instead, please return the milk to the store purchased from for a refund. We apologise for this issue and would like to reassure our customers no other Graham’s Family Dairies products or Use By Dates are affected."

Founded in 1939 by Robert Graham in Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire, the dairy started with just 12 cows hand-milked and deliveries made by horse and cart.
