Stockport NHS children's services have received a boost with a realistic new training manikin to help with medical simulations. Stockport NHS Charity supplied the funding for the new high-fidelity manikin for the paediatric and learning and education departments based at Stepping Hill Hospital. It has been named as Manny (named after both manikin and Manchester) and represents a child patient for training purposes.
Advanced Simulation Tool
It's an advanced simulation tool designed to enhance clinical skills and support effective teamworking among the multidisciplinary team. The high-fidelity manikin offers realistic anatomical features, allowing healthcare providers to practice and refine their clinical skills in a safe and controlled environment.
He joins another adult manikin from the education and development team, carrying out many important simulations a year to help clinical teams hone their skills.
