Press Healthfoods, the London-based smoothie brand stocked in major UK supermarkets including Asda, Sainsbury's, and M&S, has collapsed into administration. The company, which employs 25 members of staff, was first launched in 2013.
Company Background
On its website, Press Healthfoods states: "Good nutrition has the power to change every aspect of your life and drives a positive impact for our planet. It can support your immune system, give you more energy, help you manage eating habits, give you clearer skin and better digestion."
Administration Details
According to Companies House, Marco Piacquadio and Rachel Elizabeth Ennis from FTS Recovery Limited have been appointed as administrators. The news follows the collapse of The Real Greek restaurant chain, which entered administration putting 28 locations at risk. Toridoll Holdings Corporation's board resolved to begin insolvency proceedings for The Real Greek, which has a location in Solihull.
The Real Greek reported losses of more than £1.4 million in the year ending March 2025, with total liabilities now standing at £13,352,000. The Karali Group, owner of French brasserie chain Côte, is in talks to acquire a portion of the business, though the deal is expected to cover only 10 to 15 sites. Specific locations have not yet been confirmed.
Impact on Other Brands
Toridoll Holdings also owns Franco Manca, which previously announced plans to shut down 16 locations. The business, which has a restaurant in Birmingham city centre on Bennetts Hill, cited "disproportionately high" UK taxes and lack of business rates relief as reasons for the closures.
Marcel Khan, chief executive of parent company Fulham Shore, previously stated: "Even restaurant businesses that are doing all the right things from a customer and operational perspective are not immune to widely publicised pressures impacting the hospitality industry. As a result of these external cost pressures, we have to make sure that we are putting our business on a sustainable footing for long-term growth and development. This is why we have taken the difficult decision to undertake a CVA for Franco Manca, which will see a minority proportion of our restaurants closing where they are no longer sustainable in this cost environment."
