New UK weather maps have turned red as Birmingham is set to experience 28C heat. The recent spell of windy, wet, and chilly weather is predicted to give way to warmer conditions, with temperatures expected to climb into the high 20s within days.
Met Office Forecast: Fine Weather Ahead
The Met Office has predicted 'fine weather' across the UK, with a sunny bank holiday weekend anticipated. The summer-like conditions could persist beyond the holiday, according to forecasters.
Weather maps from WX Charts indicate that temperatures will remain in the 20s for much of England from Monday, May 25. However, the peak is expected by 6pm on Thursday, May 28.
Regional Temperature Breakdown
In Birmingham, highs of 28C are expected, while the Black Country—including Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell, and Dudley—will see highs of 27C. Surrounding areas such as Coventry, Stoke-on-Trent, and Warwickshire are forecast to enjoy balmy highs of 26C.
Elsewhere, the south east of England is in line for the best of the weather, with highs of 29C predicted.
Long-Range Forecast
In its long-range forecast for Sunday, May 24, to Tuesday, June 2, the Met Office stated: "Warm and dry for most on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. Through the following week, high pressure is expected to remain in place for much of the UK, meaning fine weather likely to continue for most places."
The forecast added: "Some patchy rain may affect the far north at times and perhaps a few showers in the far south. Temperatures are expected to be above normal, feeling very warm at times with light winds."
This heatwave follows a period of unsettled weather, and residents in Birmingham and the wider region are advised to prepare for warm conditions as the bank holiday approaches.
