Surrey Households to Receive £200 or £300 Cost of Living Vouchers from Wednesday

Financial assistance in the form of Cost of Living vouchers is being distributed to eligible households in Surrey, starting from Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The initiative is part of the ongoing Household Support Fund administered by the Department for Work and Pensions, aimed at supporting families facing financial hardship.

Voucher Details and Eligibility

Two types of one-off vouchers are available, with only one voucher per household. Single-person households can apply for a £200 voucher, while households with children are eligible for a £300 voucher. These Everyday Essentials E-vouchers can be used at major supermarkets, including Aldi, Tesco, and Sainsbury's, to cover costs for food, fuel, water, and other essential items.

Application Process and Timeline

Applications will be accepted in monthly windows from October 1, 2025, until March 31, 2026, or until funding is exhausted. The windows are open on weekdays only, from Monday to Friday, and will close once the monthly allocation is distributed. It is important to note that applying does not guarantee support, as all information will be verified using DWP and Surrey County Council data to prevent fraudulent claims.

Distribution and Funding Source

The vouchers are distributed through local organizations within Surrey that identify families in financial crisis. This funding comes as the Household Support Fund is set to end later this month, highlighting the urgency of the support. The scheme underscores the council's commitment to addressing cost of living pressures in the community.
