Birmingham residents seeking to clear accumulated rubbish during the ongoing bin strike can access the city council's mobile tip truck service over the next seven days. The council has confirmed a detailed schedule of locations and operating times to assist householders with waste disposal.
Weekly Schedule for Mobile Household Waste Centres
The Birmingham City Council tip trucks will tour different neighbourhoods daily, offering a complimentary service to take away unwanted items. This initiative is particularly crucial as the industrial action by refuse collectors continues without an immediate resolution in sight, leaving many residents with mounting waste.

The council crews are equipped to handle most common household waste. Acceptable items include:
- Beds and mattresses
- Sofas and upholstered furniture
- Small kitchen appliances
- General household rubbish
However, residents should note that certain materials cannot be accepted:

- Refrigerators and freezers

Council Support and Community Appreciation
Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport, Councillor Majid Mahmood, emphasised the council's commitment to supporting residents during this challenging period. "If you have any extra waste or unwanted household items, please do pop along," he stated. "Our friendly crews are always on hand to offer support and advice."
Councillor Mahmood added: "The Mobile Household Waste Centre trucks can take most household items, including beds, mattresses, sofas, and small kitchen appliances. However, please note that we cannot accept bricks, rubble, fridges, or large kitchen appliances."
The council also expressed gratitude to community organisations hosting the service. "A huge thank you to the faith and non-faith organisations who so generously host the Mobile Household Waste Centre in their communities," Councillor Mahmood acknowledged.
Residents are encouraged to check the schedule carefully and plan their visits according to the specified times. The service operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and council representatives recommend arriving early to avoid disappointment during peak periods.
