Aston Villa have officially announced the permanent transfer of defender Josh Feeney to EFL League Two club Accrington Stanley. The 20-year-old centre-back has signed a three-year contract with the Lancashire side, tying him to the club until the summer of 2027.
Feeney, who joined Villa's academy from Fleetwood Town in 2020, made no senior appearances for the Premier League club. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Accrington Stanley, making 12 appearances and scoring one goal. The permanent move sees him leave Villa Park after four years in the youth setup.

Accrington Stanley manager John Doolan expressed his delight at securing Feeney's services permanently. Feeney himself commented on the move: "I'm really happy to be back at Accrington. The club gave me a chance last season and I felt at home immediately. I want to repay the faith the manager and the club have shown in me."
