Dartford Youth Football Club Gets £725 Donation for Rain Jackets
Dartford Youth FC Receives £725 for Rain Jackets

A youth football club in Dartford is celebrating after receiving a generous financial donation from a local housebuilder. The funding from Redrow South East will ensure that dozens of young players stay warm and dry while playing this season. A total of £725 has been given to Castle Hill United Football Club to purchase brand new rain jackets for 25 children.

The support comes at an important time for grassroots football, which has recently seen a huge surge in popularity across Kent. The money has been provided through a dedicated community fund that helps local organisations, schools and groups thrive.

The youth football club was originally formed in 2023 and is based around the Ebbsfleet Garden City area. It currently consists of seven teams with more than 85 young players and eight coaches who support the children.

Club Chairman Expresses Gratitude

George Boulton, Castle Hill United FC Chairman, said: “Youth football in Kent has grown so much - it’s fantastic to see how far we’ve come. What used to be an occasional game every few weeks is now a weekly highlight for the kids. The jackets will give them a real sense of pride and belonging as part of a team.”

Housebuilder’s Ongoing Support for Local Sports

The housebuilder has previously backed other youth sports teams in the region, including Bearsted FC and Medway United. Stuart Galloway, from Redrow South East, said: “We’re proud to support Castle Hill United FC and play a role in growing grassroots sport in the area. By backing initiatives like this, we’re helping to ensure that young children in Kent have the opportunity to play, develop confidence, and enjoy being part of a team and active community.”

The firm is currently building new four-bedroom homes nearby at its Lakes at Stonehaven Park development. Families who want to discover more about the local projects can find extra details on the housebuilder's website.
