John McGinn Ditches Lederhosen for World Cup Focus

Aston Villa captain John McGinn has revealed that he will not be wearing Lederhosen or performing silly dances at this summer's World Cup, signaling a more serious approach for Scotland's campaign in America.

Two years ago at the European Championships, McGinn made global headlines when he arrived at Scotland's camp in Bavaria dressed in traditional German attire, complete with a funny hat and dance. That moment proved to be the highlight of a disappointing tournament for Steve Clarke's side, who managed just one shot on target throughout their campaign.

Now, as Scotland prepare to face Brazil, Haiti, and Morocco in the group stage, McGinn is focused on delivering a better performance. The Villa skipper, who led Unai Emery's team to Europa League glory, made it clear he means business this time around.

"Do I regret that? Maybe," McGinn said when reminded of his Lederhosen entrance. "But at that point I'm not thinking we wouldn't be successful. I had belief at that time. I just thought when you're in Germany at the time, they were looking for a volunteer and obviously this mug was number one."

He added: "Let's just say, there won't be much dancing getting done before this tournament. But if we manage to get through the group stages then I'll put that outfit back on and do the dancing all over again!"

The Scotland squad is determined to advance to the knockout rounds, and McGinn's leadership will be crucial. The midfielder's commitment to the cause is evident as he sets aside the antics that once made him a viral sensation.
