West Brom target Danny Imray: Morrison says 'best deal' for player
West Brom target Imray: Morrison wants best deal

West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace are set for summer talks regarding the future of right-back Danny Imray, who has been a revelation under James Morrison. The 22-year-old played a key role in Albion's escape from relegation and is a top target for the Baggies as they look to rebuild after a disastrous Championship campaign.

Morrison's Verdict

Asked about Imray's next steps, Morrison told the Express & Star: "He's done well. There's a process to everything and I'm sure there'll be conversations and both parties will see the best deal for Danny."

Imray is contracted to Palace until 2027, but his parent club are set for a summer of change with boss Oliver Glasner departing. The Londoner has impressed on loan, fitting perfectly into Morrison's 4-4-2 formation after a difficult start under previous manager Eric Ramsay.

Impressive Form

Imray started 14 games and made 17 appearances in all competitions, scoring in the crucial 3-0 win over Watford. He was snapped up by Palace from non-league in 2021 and has had successful loans at Bromley and Blackpool before joining the Baggies.

Albion are expected to strengthen this summer, with an improved profit and sustainability picture allowing Morrison to be backed by owners Bilkul. Six first-team players, including some high earners, are out of contract.
