Wolves Striker 'Lost for Words' After Controversial Villa Defeat
Wolves Ace Slams 'Really Annoying' Offside Call in Villa Loss

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jorgen Strand Larsen has voiced his intense frustration following a narrow and controversial 1-0 defeat to local rivals Aston Villa on Sunday, a result that extended Wolves' dismal run to 11 losses in their last 13 Premier League outings.

'Really Annoying' Offside Call Denies Wolves Opener

The Norway international believed he had broken the deadlock at Villa Park with a crisp first-time finish that beat goalkeeper Emi Martinez. However, the goal was disallowed after a VAR review, with officials ruling that teammate Jhon Arias was in an offside position and obstructing Martinez's view, even as he ducked to avoid the ball.

"I deserved a goal, the team deserved a goal, but the quality from them stops us," a dejected Strand Larsen told the club's official website. "We're often a bit unlucky, because when the goal goes in, we're just a fraction offside, and it's just really annoying."

Kamara's Screamer Seals Wolves' Fate

After a first half where Wolves posed significant problems for the home side, Villa grew into the game after the interval. The match's decisive moment arrived not from a flowing move, but from a moment of individual brilliance, as Boubacar Kamara unleashed a powerful long-range drive to secure all three points for Unai Emery's team.

Strand Larsen, however, remained adamant that his side's performance under new manager Rob Edwards warranted at least a point. "I'm just lost for words because I feel like we did a really good game, maybe the best of the season, until they scored," he stated, highlighting the fine margins costing his team.

Positive Signs Under New Management

Despite the bitter disappointment of the result, the forward pointed to encouraging signs since the arrival of Rob Edwards and his staff. "Rob and the staff have been excellent. They've come in with energy," Strand Larsen said, attributing the winning goal to a "screamer from outside the box, which is not anyone's fault."

He also cited several near-misses, including Yerson Mosquera hitting the crossbar and a late chance for himself that was intercepted by Villa defender Pau Torres, as evidence of Wolves' misfortune. "We're just really unlucky and everything just seems to be going against us at the moment," he lamented.

Concluding with a note of defiance, the striker promised more of the same effort and belief. "I can promise that performances like this will keep on coming... Thankfully, the season is long." Wolves, however, remain in desperate need of a turnaround as they search for their first league win under Edwards.
