Aston Villa Begins Major North Stand Redevelopment at Villa Park

Aston Villa Football Club has officially announced that preparatory work for the significant redevelopment of the North Stand at Villa Park has now commenced. This marks a crucial initial phase in the ambitious project aimed at enhancing the stadium's infrastructure and matchday experience for supporters.

Initial Phase and Structural Changes

To ensure the new North Stand is delivered on schedule, the club will remove existing structures located in the north-east and north-west corners of the stadium. This work is set to be completed ahead of the home fixture against Bologna on April 16, which is just over two weeks away. As part of this process, existing concourse and turnstile facilities serving supporters in the lower tier of the North Stand will be removed for the remainder of the season.

Temporary Arrangements for Supporters

In response to these changes, Aston Villa will install temporary facilities to minimize disruption for fans. These include:

  • Temporary toilet facilities
  • A temporary turnstile for fans using this area of the stadium

It is important to note that supporters with access to the Cells GA+ facility will not be affected by these temporary arrangements. The club has acknowledged that these measures may cause some inconvenience during the final weeks of the season but emphasizes they are necessary to keep the redevelopment programme on track.

Club Statement and Future Plans

The club released a statement addressing the disruption, stating: "We recognise that these temporary arrangements may cause some inconvenience to supporters during the final weeks of the season. However, these early works are a necessary step in keeping the North Stand redevelopment programme on track and ensuring we deliver the significantly enhanced matchday experience that has already been shared with our fans."

The statement continued: "We appreciate the continued patience and understanding of our supporters as we take these important steps toward the future of Villa Park. Further information and supporter guidance for affected fixtures will be communicated ahead of upcoming matches."

This redevelopment project represents a significant investment in Villa Park's infrastructure, with the goal of providing an improved experience for fans in the coming seasons. The club remains committed to keeping supporters informed as the project progresses.
