A Black Country man has created a World Cup fan zone in his garden by transforming a wooden building into a dedicated viewing area. The fan zone, located in Wednesbury, features a large television screen, seating, and flags from various competing nations.
Passionate Football Fan Creates Unique Space
The man, who wished to remain anonymous, spent several weeks converting his garden building into a fan zone. He said: "I love football and the World Cup is a special event. I wanted to create a space where friends and family could come together to watch the matches."
The fan zone includes a 65-inch television, comfortable seating, and decorations representing different countries. The man added: "It's been a lot of work but it's worth it to see everyone enjoying the games."
Community Response and Future Plans
Neighbours and friends have praised the fan zone, with many visiting to watch matches together. The man hopes to keep the fan zone for future tournaments, including the Women's World Cup and European Championships.
He said: "It's brought the community together. People who didn't know each other are now watching games together and having a great time."
The fan zone has been a hit during the current World Cup, with the man planning to host viewing parties for the knockout stages. He added: "I'm looking forward to the rest of the tournament. It's going to be exciting."
