Aston Villa have confirmed plans to freeze match-by-match ticket prices for the 2027/28 campaign, following a five per cent increase for the upcoming season. The club announced the price rises for the fifth consecutive year at the end of May, with both season ticket and match-by-match prices having increased by 10 per cent over the last two years.
Champions League Pricing and Backlash
Villa also raised Champions League ticket prices again despite significant backlash during the 2024/25 campaign. The most expensive adult ticket for non-season ticket holders reached £99. The club has faced criticism from supporters over the rising costs, particularly for European fixtures.
North Stand Closure and Capacity Reduction
Next season, Villa Park's capacity will drop to around 37,000 due to the closure of the North Stand. The stand is scheduled to reopen before the start of the 2027/28 season, which will increase the stadium's capacity to more than 50,000. The club explained that the five per cent increase for match-by-match tickets is a direct result of the reduced supply caused by the North Stand closure.
Season Ticket Costs and Packages
A Zone 1 adult season ticket for 19 Premier League matches will now cost £997.50, equating to £52.50 per game. The club is also offering a package that includes the four home Champions League league-phase fixtures. A Zone 1 adult season ticket covering all 23 matches will cost £1,297.50, meaning the four Champions League games would effectively cost £75 each as part of the package — around 10 per cent cheaper than purchasing them individually.
Average Availability and Future Freeze
Average availability for Premier League fixtures at Villa Park is expected to be approximately 3,600 tickets next season. As a result of that reduced supply, prices have been increased. However, the club has made clear that it intends to freeze match-by-match ticket prices for the 2027/28 season, providing some relief for fans once the North Stand reopens and capacity increases.
