Swimmers at Eastern Leisure Centre, Fairwater Leisure Centre, and Maindy Leisure Centre collectively raised more than £5,700 for Cancer Research UK, Marie Curie, and the Swimathon Foundation.

National Success and Record Participation

Charitable social enterprise GLL hosted 1,362 fundraising challenges across 87 of its managed pools for this year's Swimathon. This impressive figure significantly surpasses the previous record of 1,054 challenges set in 2025 and resulted in a remarkable £141,000 raised nationally.

Matt Simmons from GLL expressed his enthusiasm: "Congratulations to all our charity fundraisers. With 1,362 taking part nationally, Swimathon 2026 is the biggest challenge of its kind to be hosted in GLL pools, and I'm delighted that three in Cardiff were involved in such a fantastic cause."
