The Midlands football community is in mourning following the tragic death of a talented young goalkeeper.
A Life Cut Short
Joshua Travis, a 14-year-old from the Midlands, died on Wednesday, November 26 after being found on railway tracks in Burton Joyce, Nottinghamshire. Emergency services were called to the scene just after 7pm, but the teenager was pronounced dead.
British Transport Police have confirmed that his death is not being treated as suspicious, bringing a small measure of clarity to the devastating event.
Remembering 'Josh'
In an emotional statement, Joshua's heartbroken family paid tribute to their son, describing him as a lad with an incredible energy for life. They highlighted his infectious and mischievous smile and his kind, sparkling eyes, saying he had so much love to give.
The family's statement poignantly added: He leaves a gap in our lives that is and will always be impossible to fill, and we will miss him forever.

Joshua was a former academy goalkeeper for Nottingham Forest. The club released a tribute on its Instagram page, expressing deep sadness at the loss of their former player and extending thoughts to his family and friends.
Aspire Football Coaching, where Josh played for the U15s, also shared a devastating tribute on Facebook. They described him as a fantastic goalkeeper and a great character in the group, noting his polite and funny nature.
The club stated that everyone who came across Josh described him as a pleasure to have around. In a mark of respect, Aspire FC has postponed all its games this weekend.
