Birmingham Airport Issues Summer Travel Advice for Passengers
Birmingham Airport Summer Travel Advice for Passengers

Birmingham Airport has issued updated advice to passengers ahead of the busy summer season. A spokesperson from the airport told the Express & Star that the site is “looking forward to a busy Summer 2026”. The airport has issued advice ahead of the busy period to ease queues and disruption through the summer months.

New Security Rules for Liquids

The airport reminds passengers that they are able to take liquids up to two litres in their hand luggage - and they don’t have to remove these through security. Anything above the two litre limit will be removed and destroyed. There is no limit on the number of two litre containers that can be carried. Birmingham Airport was one of the first UK airports to meet the Government directive for new security equipment allowing the 100ml liquid limit at the airport to be scrapped.

Electrical Items and Baggage

Passengers can also carry electrical items in their hand luggage. The spokesperson added: “When packing luggage for the hold ensure that no battery packs or vapes are within these bags, these need to be in hand luggage. Arrive at the airport in line with your airline’s check in opening time, whether checked in online or checking in at the airport.”
