West Mercia Police have launched an investigation following the death of a 65-year-old man who fell from his seat during an incident on a Midland bus in Bromyard, Herefordshire.
Incident details
The man was travelling on the number 420 DRM bus near Baynham Close at approximately 2:30pm on Sunday, June 14, when he fell out of his seat, sustaining injuries. He was taken to hospital but died days later.
The incident was not reported to police until June 18, four days after the fall. Officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward to help establish the circumstances.
Police appeal
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We're appealing for witnesses following the death of a man who was injured while travelling on a bus in Bromyard. The incident happened at around 2.30pm on Sunday, June 14, when the number 420 DRM bus was travelling near to Baynham Close in Bromyard. During the incident, a man fell out of his seat and sustained injuries. The 65-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment but sadly died days later as a result of his injuries. The incident was not reported to the police until 18 June."
PC Mark Galpin added: "Our thoughts are with the man's family and loved ones at this very difficult time. I would like to express my sincere condolences for their loss. We're keen to hear from any passengers who were on the bus that afternoon and may be able to help us establish exactly what happened and how the man came to suffer his injuries. At this stage, the death is not being treated as suspicious, but it is important that we gather all available information."

The investigation continues, with authorities emphasising the importance of any information that could clarify the events leading to the man's death.
