E.ON Next Unveils Updated Electric Vehicle Tariffs for Cost-Effective Charging

E.ON Next has announced a significant refresh of its electric vehicle (EV) tariffs, designed to provide EV drivers with consistently low rates for overnight charging. This initiative aims to make electric vehicle ownership more affordable and accessible for customers across the region.

Substantial Annual Savings for EV Owners

Customers who charge their vehicles during off-peak hours on the Next Drive Smart tariff can achieve impressive savings. Specifically, they can save up to £401 per year when compared to charging under the standard energy price cap. This represents a notable reduction in the overall cost of operating an electric vehicle.

Detailed Tariff Structures and Rates

The updated Next Drive Smart v6.1 tariff features a straightforward two-rate system:

  • Off-peak rate (12am – 6am): 8p per kWh
  • Day rate (6am – 12am): 29.04p per kWh

Additionally, the Next Drive Fixed v19 tariff offers another attractive option for drivers. Customers using this plan during off-peak hours can save £377 annually compared to the energy price cap, with rates set at 9p per kWh for off-peak and 30.62p per kWh for daytime usage.

Enhanced Flexibility and Additional Perks

Both the Next Drive Smart and Next Drive Fixed tariffs come with several customer-friendly benefits. There are no exit fees, providing flexibility for drivers if their circumstances change. Subscribers also receive a complimentary one-year subscription to Zoom EV, an online platform that offers discounts and benefits on public charging, parking, car hire, and other services.

Environmental Commitment and Community Support

In a move supporting sustainability, each tariff includes a one-off donation to the Woodland Trust. This contribution aids in the restoration of the UK's ancient woodlands, aligning with broader environmental goals. E.ON Next's refresh not only focuses on financial savings but also promotes ecological conservation efforts.

This tariff update is part of E.ON Next's ongoing commitment to enhancing the EV charging experience, ensuring that drivers can benefit from reliable and economical energy solutions while contributing to a greener future.
