Jet2 Twilight Check-In: 4:30pm-9pm Rule for UK Passengers

Jet2 has implemented a 4:30pm to 9pm rule for passengers flying out of UK airports, including Birmingham (BHX), under its new Twilight Check-in scheme. This service allows holidaymakers to drop off their luggage the evening before a morning flight, making travel smoother.

How Twilight Check-in Works

According to Jet2, passengers flying before midday who have already checked in online can use the free Twilight Check-in service. The airline states: "Flying before midday and already checked-in online? Great news! You can use our terrific Twilight Check-in service! Your morning flight is about to get a whole lot easier…"

Travelers can drop their bags at the UK departure airport between 16:30 and 21:00 the evening before their flight. Jet2 explains: "Thanks to Twilight Check-in, when you arrive at departures the next day, your luggage is already sorted. If you live near the airport or are staying at a hotel close by, it'll make your morning a little bit easier."

Eligibility and Requirements

To use the service, passengers must check in online between 28 days and no later than 24 hours before the flight via the Jet2 website or app. The airline advises checking in as soon as online check-in opens to avoid missing out. One person can drop off bags for up to six people on the same booking, provided they bring all boarding passes, passports, and essential travel documents.

For groups of up to nine people, two individuals from the same booking need to go to the airport to check in bags. For groups of ten or more, each customer must check in their own bags. Jet2 notes: "You'll just go to the terminal on your boarding pass. There's no special desk you have to find either, it's just at our usual Jet2.com check-in desks."

Exclusions and Availability

The Twilight Check-in service is not available for flights departing on 25 and 26 December during the festive period. Jet2, which competes with airlines like easyJet, TUI, British Airways, and Wizz Air, offers this service at all UK departure airports, including Birmingham.
