Birmingham Drivers Warned: Move Cars or Face Fines

Birmingham residents on 45 roads are being warned to move their cars by midnight tonight or face fines and having their vehicles relocated as the Great Birmingham Run takes place this Sunday. The event, which includes a half marathon, will see 16,000 runners participating, necessitating extensive road closures across the city centre, Jewellery Quarter, Digbeth, and the south of the city to ensure runner safety.

Parking Suspensions and Fines

Organisers of the AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run have issued a stern warning to drivers. Parking suspensions will be in effect from midnight on Saturday, May 2. Vehicles left on the route may be removed using an 'uplift system' and could be subject to a penalty charge notice. Residents are urged to park on side streets outside the closure zones or on driveways if possible. Signs have been placed on affected roads for two weeks prior to the event to alert residents.
