Hatfield Road in Oldswinford will be closed to all vehicles for nearly three weeks starting Monday, October 12, to allow for gas mains replacement works. The closure will remain in effect until Monday, November 2, or until the works are completed, whichever comes first.
Reason for the closure
The temporary restriction is being implemented by Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14(1). The statutory notice can be viewed on the Public Notice Portal at publicnoticeportal.uk.
The closure will affect both vehicular and pedestrian traffic while gas mains replacement work is carried out on or near the affected road. The council has confirmed that no diversion route is necessary for vehicles.
Pedestrian diversions and access
Pedestrians will be diverted via Hatfield Road, Grange Lane, Hadcroft Road, and vice versa. Access to properties along Hatfield Road and for emergency vehicles will be maintained where it is safe to do so.
The council has advised that the road will reopen sooner than November 2 if the works are completed ahead of schedule. For more information on the restrictions, affected parties are advised to contact Traffic Management on 01384 814950.
