How Mobile Units Operate

The marked vans, known as mobile units, move around the West Midlands visiting hotspot roads. They tend to park up at those with the biggest speeding issues most often, making it impossible for motorists to know their exact location or time of operation.

According to West Midlands police, the mobile camera vans are part of a broader crackdown on speeding to improve road safety across the region.
