Birmingham's Festive Speed Camera Locations Revealed for December 2025
Birmingham's December 2025 speed camera locations

Drivers in Birmingham are being warned about increased speed enforcement during the festive season as West Midlands Police reveals where mobile cameras will be positioned throughout December 2025.

The police force's Camera Enforcement Unit has released a comprehensive list of 48 locations where mobile speed cameras will operate across the city during the Christmas period. This initiative aims to combat speeding, which remains one of the 'Fatal Five' driving offences responsible for most serious collisions.

Full List of Enforcement Locations

The extensive list covers major routes and residential areas across Birmingham, with multiple cameras positioned on key arterial roads. Among the locations are sections of the A34 Stratford Road between Wycome Road and Robin Hood Island, A34 Walsall Road near Cliveden Avenue, and A38 Bristol Road South near South Road.

Other significant enforcement areas include sections of the A4040 corridor, covering Bromford Lane, Fox Hollies Road, Harborne Lane, and Marsh Hill. The list also includes enforcement on A452 Chester Road approaching Pype Hayes Road in Erdington and A453 College Road towards both Aldridge Road and Chester Road.

Combatting the Fatal Five

Speeding forms part of what road safety experts call the 'Fatal Five' - the most dangerous driving behaviours that contribute to serious and fatal collisions. Alongside speeding, these include drink-driving, not wearing seatbelts, using mobile phones while driving, and careless or inconsiderate driving.

The Christmas period typically sees increased traffic volumes as people travel to visit family and friends, attend celebrations, and complete festive shopping. Historical data shows this can lead to a rise in road incidents, making targeted enforcement particularly important during December.

West Midlands Police has emphasised that the purpose of these cameras isn't simply to issue fines but to encourage compliance with speed limits and improve overall road safety for all users, including pedestrians and cyclists who may be more vulnerable during darker winter evenings.

Motorists are advised to check the full list of locations and ensure they remain within speed limits throughout their journeys, not just when they spot enforcement equipment. The police reminder comes as part of broader seasonal road safety campaigns running across the West Midlands region.
