Car Crash Outside The Hawthorns Blocks A41 in West Bromwich

A major route in West Bromwich was blocked in both directions during rush hour this morning, June 4, following a crash outside The Hawthorns stadium. The A41 Birmingham Road, near the junction with Park Lane, was closed for more than an hour starting around 8am.

Two cars were involved in the collision, with one vehicle, a white MG, sustaining significant damage. Photographs taken at the scene show the damaged car on the side of the road.

Motorists were advised to plan their journeys in advance as traffic built up across the Junction 1 roundabout of the M5. The road reopened at approximately 9:40am, according to traffic monitoring service Inrix, which reported: "Road cleared and traffic easing. Accident cleared on A41 Holyhead Road in both directions from Park Lane to Middlemore Road."
