Elderly Man Airlifted with Life-Threatening Injuries

An elderly man is fighting for his life in hospital after a serious collision with a car in Shrewsbury. The incident occurred on Whitchurch Road at approximately 12:30 pm on Saturday, November 22.

The pedestrian, a man in his 80s, was walking when he was struck by a black Audi TT travelling on the Shrewsbury-bound carriageway. Emergency services, including air ambulance crews, were quickly dispatched to the scene.

Police Launch Witness Appeal

West Mercia Police have confirmed the man sustained serious, potentially life-threatening and life-changing injuries. He was air-lifted to a major hospital for urgent specialist treatment.

Officers are now conducting a full investigation into the circumstances of the crash. PC Steve Wootton is leading the appeal for information and has urged the public to come forward.

Call for Dashcam Footage

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the black Audi TT in the area prior to the incident. They are also asking drivers with dashcams to check their footage.

PC Wootton stated: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this collision and anyone who may have seen the car involved... We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage."
