Police officers were left astonished after catching a lorry driving in the fast lane of the M5 motorway in Birmingham. The heavy goods vehicle, a white Scania, was spotted by ANPR interceptors on patrol along the stretch of motorway.
Driver Wanted for Serious Offence
Upon pulling the vehicle over, officers discovered that the driver was wanted for a serious offence in another police force area. West Midlands Police (WMP) confirmed that the driver was reported and subsequently arrested.
The incident was shared on social media by WMP Traffic. The account stated: "D-Unit #WMPANPRInterceptors were on patrol along the M5 in Birmingham, when they saw this HGV being driven in lane 3. A quick stop and check of the driver showed that he was wanted for a serious offence in another Force area. Driver reported and then arrested."
