According to a spokesperson from the West Midlands Ambulance Service, one ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the incident. The medical team provided treatment to a female patient for injuries described as potentially serious before transporting her to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further care.

National Highways has issued a warning to drivers, advising them to anticipate delays of up to 45 minutes on the approach to the affected area. In an update provided at 4pm, it was confirmed that two lanes on the southbound carriageway were closed to facilitate the recovery of the vehicles involved in the crash. While these closures remain in effect, all lanes on the northbound carriageway have since been reopened, allowing traffic to flow normally in that direction.
