The southbound M6 motorway was closed between junctions 14 and 15 in North Staffordshire after a collision between two lorries left one man with potentially serious injuries.
Emergency Response
Emergency services, including police, fire crews, and two ambulances, rushed to the incident between junctions 15 and 14 last night. The southbound carriageway was completely closed. West Midlands Ambulance Service has now revealed that one man received treatment for potentially serious injuries before being transported to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
A second man was assessed and released at the scene. The crash occurred at approximately 6:45 pm yesterday, leading to the motorway's closure.
Reopening of Lanes
Around an hour later, one lane reopened while three lanes remained shut until about 11:30 pm.
A spokesman for the ambulance service stated: 'We were called to reports of an RTC involving two lorries on the southbound M6, between junctions 15 and 14. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and a BASICS doctor attended the scene. On arrival, we discovered two patients, both men. One was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital whilst the second was assessed and discharged at the scene.'
Staffordshire Police have been approached for comment.
