The crash occurred at the junction with Chantry Drive near Quinton, prompting the closure of Spies Lane. Emergency services were dispatched at 8:44 am on May 13, 2026, with three ambulances and a paramedic officer arriving at the scene.

Medics treated a man and a child for injuries that were not considered serious. The man was transported to Russells Hall Hospital, while the child was taken to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital for further evaluation. Two additional individuals were assessed at the roadside and subsequently discharged.

A WMAS spokesperson stated: "We were called to reports of a two-car RTC at the junction of Spies Lane and Chantry Drive at 8.44am. Three ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene. We treated a man and child for injuries not believed to be serious before they were taken to Russells Hall Hospital and the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, respectively. Two further patients were assessed and discharged at the scene."
