Launch dates have been announced for two popular Walsall splash pads, but a third will not be opening this year. These free-to-use splash parks are set in picturesque parks with cafes and playgrounds, making them ideal family destinations for summer 2026.
Walsall Arboretum Splash Pad
Walsall Arboretum Splash Pad, widely regarded as one of the best splash parks in the area, receives rave reviews from parents on Google. Visitors enjoy the gardens for dog walking and the reasonably-priced coffee available in the cafe. Set within 170 acres of parkland and gardens, the splash pad is conveniently located in the heart of Walsall town centre, making it easily accessible by public transport.
The splash pad will open on Saturday, May 23, in time for the May half-term and Bank Holiday weekend, and will remain open until Sunday, August 30. Admission is free. The facility features a range of water attractions, including fountains, water cannons, and spray jets. Within the arboretum on Lichfield Street, there is also a playground, a lake with pedalos, a skate park, table tennis, and parking.
Willenhall Memorial Park Splash Pad
The opening dates for Willenhall Memorial Park Splash Pad are identical to those of Walsall Arboretum. This Green Flag award-winning park, located on Pinson Road, offers a cafe, play area, multi-use games area, skate park, outdoor gym, and an enclosed dog area. Additional amenities include a bandstand, cricket and football pitches, free-to-use tennis courts, a community pavilion with toilets, and parking. The splash pad will be open from Saturday, May 23, to Sunday, August 30.
King George V Park Splash Pad Remains Closed
Unfortunately, the splash pads at King George V Park on Stafford Road in Bloxwich will not reopen this year due to ongoing improvement works at the park. No reopening date has been announced yet.
