The West Midlands is set for plenty of sunshine this week as temperatures rise and clouds remain scarce. However, the latter part of the bank holiday weekend will not be as pleasant.
According to the Met Office, Friday 1 May will bring widespread sunshine across the region, with temperatures expected to reach 25C. The forecaster noted: 'After a bright start, cloud becoming more widespread through the morning with showery outbreaks of rain in the west. Isolated thunderstorms possible later in the day. Feeling warm and humid. Maximum temperature 25 °C.'
As the bank holiday weekend approaches, conditions are forecast to shift. In its outlook from Saturday 2 May to Monday 4 May, the Met Office stated: 'Turning more changeable into the weekend with showers, or longer spells of rain, possibly thundery at times. Temperatures generally returning closer to average.'
This means that while bank holiday Monday will still be warm, there is a chance of showers. Residents are advised to enjoy the early sunshine but prepare for potentially wetter weather later in the weekend.
