Woman Critical After Car Overturns in Tipton Crash

A woman is fighting for her life in hospital after a vehicle overturned in a two-car crash that left four people injured. The serious collision occurred on Sedgley Road West in Tipton at around 8.30pm on Monday, April 27.

Paramedics reported that one car had overturned onto its roof. The woman was found in a critical condition and received advanced trauma care at the scene before being rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for emergency treatment.

Three Men Also Injured

Two men sustained serious injuries and were also taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. A third man, whose injuries were less severe, was transported to Russell's Hall Hospital in Dudley.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: 'We received multiple 999 calls reporting a two-car collision on Sedgley Road West in Tipton at around 8.30pm yesterday. We arrived to find a serious RTC which had resulted in one car ending up on its roof. It was clear that four patients required immediate treatment, with three in a serious condition.'

The spokesperson added: 'The woman was in a critical condition and received advanced trauma care by the team of medics to stabilise her condition on scene. She was conveyed by ambulance on blue lights and sirens to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for emergency care. Two men sustained multiple serious injuries and needed trauma care from ambulance staff. Both were taken to the same hospital for further treatment. A third man sustained less serious injuries and was assessed and treated on scene before being conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital.'

Four ambulance crews, HART paramedics, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma team and a critical care paramedic responded to the scene.
