Emergency Services Rush to Scene of Birmingham Collision
Emergency services were called to a significant road traffic incident in the Handsworth area of Birmingham on Friday morning. The collision, involving three vehicles, occurred at the junction of Soho Road and Murdock Road at 11.36am on November 21.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed a swift and substantial response to the incident. A spokeswoman stated that they sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and their hazardous area response team to the scene to manage the situation.
Injuries and Hospitalisation Following the Crash
Upon arrival, paramedics discovered one woman who had sustained injuries. After being assessed at the scene for what were described as minor injuries, she was conveyed to the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital for further treatment and care.
Three other individuals were also involved in the incident. However, they did not wish to be medically assessed and were subsequently discharged from the scene by the ambulance crews.
Major Travel Disruption and Bus Diversions
The crash caused significant disruption to the local road network and public transport services. The A41 Soho Road westbound was blocked, leading to slow traffic in the area between Barn Lane and A4040 Rookery Road.
In response, NX West Midlands announced bus diversions for its services. The affected services, the 11A and 11C, were diverted in both directions via Nineveh Road, Soho Road, and Grove Lane. The bus company apologised for any disruption caused to passengers' journeys.
